A man who was hoping to make some money with a quick burglary instead ended up with a slew of charges including one for possession of narcotics.
Police say a Michigan man only made off with some change from a car wash Sunday after he managed to break into the business through the roof. It’s unclear exactly how he got in.
Police responded to calls of a burglary early Sunday morning to find the building’s power had been shut off sometime late Saturday. Lapeer County police later learned a man had tried to exchange a large amount of change at a nearby bank for cash, according to ClickOnDetroit.com.
The tip led them to a 34-year-old Columbiaville man named Jorge Ortiz, whom they arrested Wednesday. He’s now facing charges of burglary, larceny and felony narcotics after police found he had drugs. He’ll be in court May 14.
