Remember Walter White? When he wasn’t teaching or cooking the highly sought-after drug featured in AMC’s Breaking Bad, he was working at a car wash. Perhaps that’s where a Stamford, England man drew his inspiration for a business to front his pot-growing venture.

The Rutland Times reports that 57-year-old Stephen Chandler was busted by police for growing cannabis plants at his car wash. Chandler told police he began the illegal gardening practices after his car wash business began to suffer, hoping to bring in more money. Police found 44 plants at the business in the growing stages along with some cannabis that was drying. The man admitted to the crime in court.

“It was not an insubstantial enterprise, there were 44 plants being grown,” the judge told Chandler. “You were using your car wash valeting business as a cover.”

The business was demolished after Chandler’s lease expired. It was a short-lived endeavor not quite up to Walter White’s lore.
