Ahead of this year’s Boston Marathon, a Belmont, Massachusetts, family-owned car wash business, Belmont Car Wash & Detailing, united the local community through a week-long fundraiser to support the One Fund of Boston, an organization serving those most affected by the 2013 Boston Marathon bombings.
By choosing to donate portions of each wash and detail, the week-long fundraiser held between April 21, 2014 and April 25, 2014 yielded $500 in donations and much support from the local community. “We are delighted to be able to participate in raising funds for the organization,” said General Manager Adam Tocci. “It is fantastic to see the Boston community come together for this mission and we are happy to do our part in contributing.”
The Tocci family wash is known for their generosity and involvement in the community through past fundraisers benefiting organizations in the Belmont area, according to a release from the International Carwash Association.
The Belmont shop has been in the news lately for the major renovations it has undertaken for its 50th anniversary.
