wishy.jpgAn experienced businessman who only recently entered the car wash industry is now opening his second location in Kennett, Missouri. The Daily Dunklin Democrat reports that the second Wishy Washy Car Wash opened in what they’re describing as an already crowded market. That doesn’t phase owner Jeff Montgomery, who said he has something that sets his wash apart from the others.

His secret is an arsenal of high-tech equipment. The gear is brand new and made for an impressive makeover at what used to be a Mojo Car Wash. Montgomery installed a D&S 5000 touch free unit and a Ryko soft-touch unit. The first is apparently common among local car washes in Kennett, but the latter puts his business over the edge.

“I like a good, clean car myself,” Montgomery said. “I ran through it every couple of days and said, ‘You know, I’d like to own this thing.’ So I bought it, made a bunch of improvements. I added credit cards over in Caruthersville. Put the soft touch in and steadily watched sales increase.”

The Ryko soft-touch also has a set of dryers, so that when your vehicle is done with its scrub, it gets a nice dry finish without water spots. Montgomery said he chose Kennett for his second location because he liked the old Mojo location and because he did his homework. He said both real estate taxes and the cost of utilities are much cheaper in Kennett than they are in other places where he’s run various businesses everything from storage units to pizza shops.
