We’ve written in the past about car wash businesses that aim to employ those with special needs, specifically Autism. There’s a car wash in Arizona that employs those with a range of disabilities. There’s another one we’ve written about in Singapore, too.
But most recently, we told you about a father-son team that opened such a business in Florida. That was back in August. Now the same men are opening a second location for Rising Tide Car Wash.
The Real Deal reports that rising tide has purchased a plot of land in Margate, Florida for $1.5 million. The new car wash is scheduled to open in 2017, according to a press release. The company’s newest location will bring 50 new jobs.
The company’s CEO told the Sun Sentinel that the new location will be about 1.5 times bigger than the original in Parkland, Florida. It will require about $3.4 million to get up and running.
“By expanding to a second South Florida location, we are pleased to continue proving that autism can be a competitive advantage for business,” CEO John D’Eri said, adding that Rising Tide helps its employees with autism “realize their capabilities, gain confidence, make friends, gain financial independence and have a place to call their own.”
