quackWe haven’t seen this before. Quick Quack Car Wash, a company that recently expanded into Utah, has announced that it’s holding a creative writing contest. Pretty clever, right? The company plans to pay the winner of the contest $1,000 for his or her essay on the Quick Quack Car Wash mascot named Quackals.

The contest is, appropriately, only for students. Kids in grades 4th through 12th or ages 8 to 18 are allowed to enter. The car wash owners want kids to get creative and come up with a back story for the yellow bird, who is seen wearing sunglasses and a plaid tie in the company’s ads.

According to the press release, one kid will win the $1,000 grand prize while eight others will win $100 each for their essays which might be worth mentioning.

“For years we have wanted to tell the story of Quackals, the Quick Quack Duck, and share with our fans more of his background and how he became our mascot,” said Travis Kimball, Chief Marketing Officer of Quick Quack. “Now we have the opportunity to let our fans participate in that storytelling. We are excited to read all of the creative entries describing where he came from and how he ended up as the mascot of our growing chain of car washes.”

According to the company, Quick Quack Car Wash has 26 locations in CaliforniaTexasColorado, and Utah. For more info, visit www.DontDriveDirty.com.
