This is kind of a bizarre story. An SUV rolled away from a car wash in Colonial Heights, Virginia, crossed a vacant lot, screamed across a street and slammed into a utility box near a courthouse. The impact knocked out the building’s power, according to a report from the local CBS 6 news station.

“Witnesses told CBS 6 senior reporter Wayne Covil the SUV rolled away from a Dupuy Avenue car wash, rolled across the street and struck the pole,” the station said. “Security cameras set-up around the courthouse captured the SUV streaking across the street and hitting the utility box.”

Nobody knows how the SUV cut itself loose, and the security cameras are no help. In the video, embedded below, the SUV seems to appear out of thin air before bouncing off the pole. A witness flees in apparent terror.
