A car wash chain with locations across Southern California is buying a new one and immediately plunking down six figures on renovations.

Waterdrops Express car wash already has facilities in four cities in the region. Now owner Sam Siam is snatching up the Tri-Star Car Wash in Tulare this week and will begin $700,000 worth of renovations starting Dec. 15, the Visalia Times-Delta is reporting.

While other car wash businesses are adding cafés to diversify their offerings, Siam is hoping to capitalize on more stalls. They’re planning to tear down the existing café and replace it with stalls, including 27 vacuum stalls and four pay stations, according to the report.

“People will be impressed with our plan. Everything will look like what Tulare deserves,” Siam told the paper. He added that the location, inside a shopping plaza, was the main factor in the purchase. “Tulare was one of the nicest cities. We always wanted to have a location there.”
