A glitch at a car wash allowed one customer to give her ride a nice, long scrub. (Photo: http://oppositelock.jalopnik.com)
Sometimes it’s a slow news day, but we thought this story was cool anyway.
Klaus Schmoll (who we can assume is German, but we’re not sure) fed €2 into the meter at the car wash, hoping to give his Honda quick scrub down. What he got was more minutes of washing than he knew what to do with.
He wrote in a blog post:
You insert a coin, water starts running, after some time the water stops and you insert the next coin. Except that today it wouldn’t stop. Ever. I inserted a €2 coin and only stopped about 20 minutes later because I got bored. The car had been spotless after about ten minutes. Even though I wax and polish the car by hand at least twice a year, I gave it the hot wax treatment, and then finished with this pure water stuff that dries off without stains. All that for 2 euros! Nice glitch!
Does that ever happen to any of you guys?
Anyway, a commenter on the blog pointed out that €2 (US$2.54) isn’t the cheapest car wash ever. She got one for free from some kids doing a fundraiser. Definitely one of those DOH! moments that you never forget in your whole life.
