Car wash thiefAuthorities are investigating a series of car wash burglaries in Ohio where they believe the same suspects have stolen quarters from at least two car washes and a hand full of other businesses.

Surveillance footage shows three men broke into a Blendon Township car wash, causing thousands of dollars in damage and stealing hundreds in quarters. A similar crime happened just weeks before at a car wash in London, Ohio.

The three men are suspected of stealing from several other coin-operated businesses in the Columbus area at places like Kroger and Walmart where CoinStar machines hold ample change. Law enforcement is asking the public for help, according to ABC-6.

To protect your car wash from similar crimes, consider installing card-operated machines to limit the amount of cash and coins being exchanged. Law enforcement also recommends retrieving coins in a safe and secure fashion during proper hours and conditions. Installing visible security cameras could also deter such thefts.
