Talk about a dumb idea. A couple employees of a car wash in Mansfield, a town in the United Kingdom, decided to steal the car of a customer who dropped it off for some auto work. Who would have guessed they’d be caught?
Chad.co.uk is reporting that the two men, ages 21 and 23, admitted to stealing a van that had been left at the car wash’s auto shop overnight. The men admitted to the crime in court saying they did not have permission to take it, a license to drive a van of that size or the insurance to do so legally.
The men said all they had to do was grab the keys that were left at the shop over night and off they went. The men said they never intended to steal the vehicle and returned it later undamaged. The kicker is both men got to keep their jobs but had a few days’ pay withheld.
